A Brief COVID-19 Update

Hello, all. You may have noticed that we have had few new awardees while the SCRA dog assessors have done their best to practice physical distancing. We will continue to post dogs that meet our high standards as we see them and encourage you to nominate any spectacular dogs in your life!
Tell us about how your special buddy has helped you during this challenging time.
We don't deserve dogs- but we are so grateful that we have them!!!

FAQs
Q. What is the purpose of the Superior Canine Recognition Association (SCRA)?
A. The SCRA seeks to recognize dogs in their natural environments (away from dog shows) and ensure that everyday, family-owned companions get the recognition they deserve.
Q. What training and qualifications do SCRA representatives have?
A. SCRA reps are introduced to the organization's mission and trained to recognize dogs in public worthy of either a "Best Dog" or "Honorable Mention" ribbon. By the time an SCRA rep is empowered to award ribbons of distinction, they have seen and evaluated hundreds of dogs in their natural environment.
Q. Is there a fee associated with being awarded an SCRA ribbon?
A. No, there is no fee and participation in SCRA activities is at the owner's discretion.
Q. What will be expected of my dog as an awardee of an SCRA ribbon?
A. Congratulations! Your dog will be awarded a ribbon, suitable for wall display or wearing. The SCRA rep will take a picture of your dog for displaying on the SCRA website and will collect some basic info about your dog:
-
Name of Dog
-
Age of Dog
-
Breed of Dog (if known)
-
Favorite Hobby of Dog -or- Favorite Food of Dog
Q. What do official SCRA ribbons look like?
A. Two levels of SCRA ribbons are awarded: The BEST DOG ribbon, and The HONORABLE MENTION ribbon.

Q. Can I arrange for my dog to be evaluated by a SCRA rep?
A. Yes. In-person dog evaluations are offered by appointment. Please see the link "Book Online"

Q. Does my dog have to be pure-bred to win?
A. Absolutely not. SCRA believes in hybrid vigor, in fact, rescue dogs who were over the age of 5 at the time of adoption are given special consideration.

Dezmond is about 12 years old (on right) loves (modest) hikes and defending the house against postal workers. Favorite food is morsels stolen from Leenah's bowl.
HALLOWEEN 2020 WINNER!

This adventurous, Super-Pup is Kiko!
He is a 1 year old Bagle Hound rescue (Beagle/Basset Hound) and has never known a time without his humans at home (he is a quarantine puppy).
He loves walks in the hills, and jaunts in the city... and will never refuse a chance to sneak choice, Italian meats off his mom's plate. Bravo, Kiko, you truly are a superior canine!
